November's Captain Marvel #12 will begin a new story arc will begin in November's Captain Marvel #12 in which Carol Danvers will become a "dark" reflection of herself as "The Last Avenger." The arc will be drawn by Lee Garbett. In "The Last Avenger," an apparently evil Captain Marvel will face off against her fellow Avengers. There are no hints as to how Carol will come to this point. However, the advance solicitation says "Earth will never be the same."
